The Lion Monument- Löwendenkmal, Luzern

The Lion Monument (Löwendenkmal)

I signed Cameron up for a children’s theater group workshop in Luzern.  He loved it and we will definitely sign up for the next one.  It took place on Denkmalstrasse right next to the Löwendenkmal (Lion Monument), a major tourist attraction.  It is a pretty powerful remembrance memorial for the Swiss soldiers massacred in the French Revolution.  It is also tchotchke central.  There are more souvenir shops on this one little street than probably all of Zug.

It’s also interesting to see Japanese writing everywhere.  I’m of course used to seeing signs in German, French, and Italian.  If I’m lucky, I will see things in English, but Japanese?  At Löwenplatz, the bus stop right there, you will see numerous tour buses.  Most of them are filled with Japanese tourists.
